What do homeowners get the highest prices for their homes in selling do differently than others?
If you are preparing to sell your house to use the following tips to help you prepare every area of your home before selling. This makes a big difference and most can be done by little or nothing.
Follow these instructions to get your home in top selling condition. Only a few small steps can get the highest possible price.
Carpets and floors
Hire a professional to deodorize carpets, especially if you have pets
Replace any worn carpet
Steam clean carpets thoroughly
If necessary, install new carpet in neutral colors with a thick padding so prospective buyers feel comfortable while walking on your floors
Making rugs are secure. Stretch and tack down loose or curling carpet
Make sure rugs aspirated, no pet hair and combed
If you decide to replace a linoleum floor, choose a neutral color that will have great appeal
CLEANING HOUSE AND Rid of Clutter
Equipment must be cleaned – inside and out
Clean all drapes, curtains and blinds
Clean or purchase new front door accessories

Clean inside of all kitchen cabinets and bathroom and well organize items on shelves

If missing or damaged tiles have been replaced

Make sinks are clean and free of burrs
Repair countertops, sinks or baths
Ensure that no leaking faucets
Re-caulk damaged in the shower, sink, tub or toilet
Clean tile grout and make no stains
Paint, touch up or repainting kitchen cabinets
Tighten or replace loose doorknobs or cabinet pulls, sticking doors and drawers, wobbly hinges
Replace toilet seat
If appliances are dated or not functioning, consider replacing
LIGHTING & WINDOWS
